% of Maximum Stress

Enter in a percent of maximum stress to be used in the FAD assessment. The primary stress intensity factor is scaled using this percentage value in the toughness ratio calculation. This allows the user to scale up stress values to determine the flaw's sensitivity to FAD failure, without having to recalculate stress profiles.

Maximum Crack Opening Pressure

Enter in a pressure to be used in the FAD assessment. The stress intensity factor due to pressure (for an interior surface crack) is computed using this value and used in the toughness ratio calculation. This allows the user to scale up FEA pressure values to determine the flaw's sensitivity to FAD failure.
